SILVER SPHERE DROPS “mydream.tesla” ON SOUNDCLOUD.
Silver Sphere serenades her ideal car in her latest track “mydream.tesla.” This self-produced and self-written song was released on Soundcloud last Friday. The song is the first to follow her 2019 EP yikes! It’s the perfect addition to your summer playlist, and practically begging you to blast it on your next drive. I got the chance to ask Silver a few questions about the song, and you can read our interview below.
HOW DID THIS SONG COME ABOUT? WHAT WAS THE PROCESS OF MAKING IT LIKE?
I’ve always wanted to do more of my own production. Most of my early music I produced on my own. Obviously now I have access to amazing producers when working on new music which is great, but I kind of stopped working on my own production abilities. In quarantine, I thought it was the perfect time to start experimenting with that again, and finding a sound that’s completely mine, when I don’t have any collaborators. The process was really natural and brought me back to a creative state I haven’t been in in a while.
THE PRODUCTION ON THE TRACK IS JUST WAY TOO COOL. TELL ME MORE ABOUT IT.
Honestly, I was just playing around with vocals and landed on the vocal chop idea. I got them to a place that sounded really sparkly and happy and just built around the vocal once I knew what the song was about.
I LOVE THAT THE SONG IS TALKING ABOUT YOUR IDEAL CAR. IF YOU HAD YOUR DREAM TESLA WHERE’S THE FIRST PLACE YOU’D DRIVE?
I’d drive to New York...I miss my home!!
DO YOU HAVE A GO TO SONG YOU PLAY IN THE CAR?
My go to song in the car is Dreamer by Charli XCX. Or, of course, Music For Cars EP by The 1975. It’s a classic.
HOW IS “mydream.tesla” DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS RELEASES?
This release was on a whim. It was just something I was excited about and wanted to share. Obviously with bigger projects you have to have a release plan and take your time. But yeah, this one was just natural and I wanted to share it immediately after I made it.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE LISTENERS TAKE AWAY FROM THE SONG?
That Teslas are dope. Even if Elon Musk is kinda weird.
WILL WE BE ABLE TO FIND IT ON SPOTIFY OR APPLE MUSIC SOON?
Probably not. It’s the first thing I’ve produced in a long time and it was a great jumping off point, but I think I can top it. Soundcloud is a great place for stuff like that. Things that you just want to share without having to deal with any of the logistics of Spotify or Apple Music releases. I feel like soundcloud is more of a diary where I can post things without having to think about it too hard. But I’m feeling super inspired to produce more of my stuff now that I’ve been back at it.
